How the bulk carrier audit works
Paste your carrier list
MC or USDOT numbers, one per line or separated by commas, or drop a CSV. Up to 150 at a time.
Read the findings
See how many carriers need a look, sorted by seriousness, with the reason behind every flag.
Keep the dated record
Download the CSV or print the audit record, with the date checked and a re-check date.
A broker can be sued for the carrier it books.
The Court ruled unanimously that federal law does not block state negligent hiring claims against brokers. What protects you is a dated note of what you checked. UltraShip keeps one on every carrier, inside your TMS.

Free checks read public FMCSA records as of the time shown. Not legal advice, a certification of coverage or a recommendation to tender. A public record cannot detect stolen identities, spoofed email or double brokering. The numbers you paste are sent to FMCSA's open data service, and nothing is stored by UltraShip except a count of recent runs kept in this browser.
Questions brokers ask about carrier audits
What is a bulk carrier audit?
A bulk carrier audit checks many carriers against public FMCSA records in one pass instead of one at a time. Paste a list of MC or USDOT numbers and this tool returns each carrier's authority status, insurance on file, authority age and flags, with a one page summary of who needs a look.
What data does the audit check?
It reads public records from the FMCSA open data service: operating authority status, insurance filings, USDOT status, authority history and the safety rating where one exists. It shows what the public record says at the time of the check, and the time is printed on the report.
Why re-check carriers you already use?
Insurance can lapse and authority can be revoked or reinstated after a carrier is onboarded, and a one-time check will not show it. A dated record of what you checked and when is useful evidence of the care you took when booking a carrier.
How many carriers can I check at once?
Up to 150 MC or USDOT numbers per run. Paste them one per line or separated by commas or spaces, or drop a CSV or text file and the tool pulls out every number it finds. Duplicates are merged and anything over 150 is trimmed with a message.
What can a public record not tell me?
A public record cannot detect stolen identities, spoofed email or double-brokering, and it is not a safety rating or a recommendation to tender a load. Treat the result as a first look at the public file, then confirm anything flagged directly with the carrier.
Does UltraShip store my carrier list?
No. The numbers you paste are sent only to FMCSA's open data service to look up the records, and nothing is stored by UltraShip. There is no account. Download the findings as a CSV or print the dated audit record before you leave the page.
